Responsible gambling in co-operation with operator and experts by experience
Abstract
In Finland, responsible gambling is carried out innovatively worldwide: the operator works with trained experts by experience (gambling disadvantages) when renewing the models of responsible gambling. In cooperation with experts by experience, a pilot model of concern calls has been built, staff trained to identify the gambling problem and the contents of the responsible gambling site updated. How has this cooperation model been arrived at and what are its effects? The presentation contains experiences from both the operator's and the experience experts' side and opens up the idea behind the cooperation about participation, hearing the voice of experience and the possibility of change. We also present the recent history of the gambling debate in Finland - the emergence of experts by experience in the media and debate.
