Abstract
This study examines the basketball gameplay factors that influence revenue for NBA teams. This study is a quantitative analysis of NBA team real revenue and gameplay statistics, with a focus on style of play implications for revenue. This study utilizes fixed effect regression analysis on NBA revenue with basketball gameplay statistics as predictors. This study reveals that a particular style of play, “Run and Gun,” and other fast- paced playstyles, are associated with higher revenue. These findings have critical implications for NBA front offices, owners, and coaching staffs.
