Abstract

The presentation will summarize the results of research aimed at understanding the impact of slot machine pay table metrics on the player's experience. Findings from multiple research designs and several global markets will be reviewed, with aim of understanding how pay table variables such as par and standard deviation impact the individual player's experience.

Anthony F. Lucas received his Ph.D. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Over his ten-year career in the gaming industry, Dr. Lucas worked in the areas of financial and operations analysis for Harvey’s Resort Hotel Casino, Harrah’s, MGM Grand, and Palace Station Hotel Casino. Currently, he serves as a professor on the faculty of UNLV’s William F. Harrah College of Hospitality.
